Case study

Paver patios and walkways

Pavers are the most versatile hardscape there is: a patio, a walkway, a poolside deck, a driveway, all from interlocking units set on a compacted base. These projects shape how metro Atlanta properties are used and approached, and because a paver surface can be lifted and reset, it can be repaired rather than replaced.

The idea

A surface that shapes how a yard is used

The difference between a paver project that stays flat and true and one that heaves and settles is almost never the paver, it is the base underneath. On metro Atlanta clay, which holds water and moves with the seasons, that means excavating to the right depth, compacting a proper aggregate base, setting the pavers with tight joints, and grading so water runs off rather than pooling.

Done that way, a paver patio, walkway, or pool deck stands up to years of traffic and weather, and the same interlocking construction that makes it durable also makes it repairable: a unit can be lifted and reset without tearing out the whole surface.

The range

Patios, paths, pools, and drives

The same craft, in four settings, each with its own demands on the surface. These are the kinds of paver work we build.

  • Patios and outdoor rooms

A paver patio turns unused backyard into an outdoor room, sized to how a family gathers, often paired with a low seating wall or a fire-pit area so the space works on a cool evening as well as a warm one.

  • Walkways and entries

A paver walkway shapes how a property is approached, a curving path to a front entry, a route from the drive to the door, laid with tight, swept joints that stay true through Georgia weather and traffic.

  • Poolside hardscapes

Around a pool, the surface has to shed water, resist slip, and take heavy use. Paver decks handle all three, and a single unit can be lifted and reset if the ground ever shifts, unlike a poured slab that cracks.

  • Driveways and aprons

Interlocking pavers carry vehicle loads when they are set on a properly compacted base, giving a driveway or apron a finished look that a plain concrete pad never has, and one that can be repaired unit by unit.

Representative work

A look at the paver work we build

Representative examples of patios, walkways, and poolside hardscapes. These are examples of the kind of work we do, not a client-by-client portfolio; our own project photos are added here at launch.
